Jesse Eisenberg On His Lex Luthor: ‘This Is A Real Depiction Of A Person Who Thinks These Things’

One of the best things about the depiction of Lex Luthor in the comics and in Smallville (yes, I referenced Smallville because it was a terrific piece in the tapestry of the Superman lore) was that the character absolutely believed in his causes, no matter how nefarious his reasoning or his intentions may have seemed. It’s a trait that’s beholden to the best villains in all mediums; they truly think they’re doing what’s right for themselves and society as a whole.

So, it’s refreshing to see that Jesse Eisenberg — recently interviewed by MTV — says that his Lex Luthor is coming from that place of personal truths rather than the “winky” stuff that pervaded the Richard Donner-era Superman films. Check out the brief snippet of Eisenberg’s interview with MTV for a few more hints about how we’ll be seeing his Lex in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
