Tattoos can be very cool. They can also be really, really annoying, especially if you’re one of those people who likes to commemorate significant others in body ink. And if you don’t believe that, just ask Johnny Depp.

See, Depp’s been down this road before. Way, way back when, he was engaged to Winona Ryder (note to you youngsters out there — Winona Ryder was 100 percent where it’s at before the turn of the millennium). To show his devotion, he tatted himself up with the words ‘Winona Forever.’ And when the relationship inevitably went south, Depp had to do something. So he got the ‘Na’ lasered off and the tattoo thus became ‘Wino Forever.’ Now that’s some creativity.

But it appears Depp didn’t learn because he got his now estranged wife Amber Heard’s nickname, which apparently is ‘Slim’ inked onto his fingers. But, per TMZ, now that the one-time couple is most decidedly no more, Depp had to improvise yet again. And boy, did he ever.

TMZ says what once read ‘Slim’ now reads ‘Scum.’ Yep, the L was transformed into a C and the I became a U. And that, ladies and gentlemen, should tell you much of what you need to know about both tattooing your spouse’s name onto your body and what Johnny Depp, mired in scandal and some pretty scary allegations, would seem to think about Amber Heard.
