‘The LEGO Movie 2’ Sees Its Release Date Get Pushed Back

For what seemed like it was just going to be a clueless cash-in on the LEGO name, The LEGO Movie turned out to be quite a delight for viewers young and old alike. Everything from the performances by Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and the rest to the script, the songs and everything. It was just one of those rare moments when something that looked like a disaster-in-waiting on paper turned out to be something special.

That’s what makes the impending release of The LEGO Movie 2 exciting and has many singing “Everything is Awesome” in preparation. Originally slated for a May 18, 2018 release date, it looks like that date is no more. Vulture has the bad news on the delay, with it looking like The LEGO Movie 2 won’t be coming out until February of 2019. So yeah, that might be a bit of a bummer, but you can still sit back and enjoy the original, or watch the crazy performance of “Everything is Awesome” from the Oscars.

That’ll probably calm you down a bit. Anyway, there are still two other scheduled LEGO films ready for release, including Ninjago and LEGO Batman starring Will Arnett, due out in September and May without a hitch. So yes, there will be more LEGO films in the near future, just not the one that you really wanted just yet.
