Just in case you’ve been living in a dark hole somewhere, Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters in December and shattered domestic and global box-office records soon after. Filming on the yet-to-be-titled Episode VIII is currently under way, which means that co-stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley get to spend a lot of time with legacy player Mark Hamill. Which is great, because unlike Harrison Ford, Hamill loves social media and uses it frequently — especially if there’s an opportunity to troll Star Wars fans who constantly hit the F5 key to see his latest tweets.
Hamill often uses the social-media platform to help followers in need, but with recent tweets about Luke Skywalker’s sexuality and Rey’s parentage, it has become abundantly clear that the 64-year-old actor is a troll. (A nice troll, but a troll nonetheless.) Consider his latest feat of brilliance — what Mashable deemed to be a somewhat spoilery tweet about the plot of Episode VIII that disguised itself as birthday wishes for Boyega.
Happiest of Birthdays to the Finn-tastic @JohnBoyega a swell fella who's just sonsational in #EP8 Hmmm-Typo or spoiler? YOU decide! #Troll

Boyega responded to the tweet in kind the next morning.
@HamillHimself I like your style 😉

Unsurprisingly, Hamill’s followers and avid Star Wars fans weren’t as thrilled as Boyega with the forced typo-cum-spoiler regarding Finn’s parentage in the film.
