Thor: Ragnarok is shaping up to be an interesting outing for the Norse god, with an out-of-left-field director and the presence of the Hulk. Marvel has also been looking to cast a female villain, most likely Enchantress or Hela, to battle the mighty Thor. Cate Blanchett was rumored to be the front runner for the role, but Marvel was, as usual, playing things close to the chest. However, the Incredible Hulk himself may have let the cat out of the bag.

According to ET, Ruffalo seemingly verified her involvement during an interview at the BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party, expressing his joy at working with her on the project:

“I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!'” he revealed. “She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting.”

While this appears to be a clear confirmation, Marvel has yet to officially announce Blanchett’s involvement. Still, it’s hard to imagine anyone better for the role.
