Marvel is officially confirming some rumors about Avengers: Infinity War by announcing that Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely will write the screenplays for both parts of the Avengers’ last battle. The pair will reunite with directors Anthony and Joe Russo, with whom they worked on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Speculation started last month that they would be hired for the job, and it’s no surprise, considering how well Winter Soldier was received; many people consider it to be Marvel’s best offering so far.

By now, Marcus and McFeely are intimately familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe after working on all three Captain America movies, Thor: The Dark World, and the pilot for ABC’s Agent Carter, which was just renewed for a second season. For those of us familiar with what happens to Steve Rogers in the Civil War timeline, it’s probably for the best that the guys who took Cap through his Marvel journey from the beginning will wrap up his story, however that may be.
