Michael Keaton Is Negotiating To Be The Next Actor To Explore ‘Kong: Skull Island’

Kong: Skull Island, the sort-of but probably-not prequel to King Kong, already has both Tom Hiddleston and J.K. Simmons signed to it. What I’m here to tell you today is that my dream, and hopefully yours if you’re cool, of seeing Batman ride a dinosaur on the big screen is about to come true. I started drinking already to celebrate but let’s finish this article.

You see, Michael Keaton — who you may know played Batman that one time in the thing — is rumored to be in talks to co-star in the movie about exploring Skull Island, which has dinosaurs, and he better friggin’ ride one.

The tentative release date is November of 2016, and so far they’re apparently actually hiring Jordan Vogt-Roberts to direct. The one thing I took away from watching Nick Offerman’s comedy special was that it was very badly produced, so an f/x-heavy period film from the Funny or Die director would be something I’d usually avoid. Presumably Andy Serkis was unavailable to direct because he’s working on The Jungle Book. And that makes me sad, because I obviously want to see Batman riding a dinosaur in 3-D.

We’ve reached the stage of drinking where I’m no longer euphoric about Batman riding dinosaurs and am depressed about Andy Serkis not getting enough credit for being amazing.
