Nathan Fillion Seems Ready To Play ‘Booster Gold’ If DC Comics Would Ask Him

Warner and DC Comics seem to have no trouble creating an interesting and entertaining television presence for their characters, particularly the ones who aren’t Batman and Superman. The Flash and Arrow are about to be joined by Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl (there’s also Gotham and whatever thing is happening at NBC), but is there room for one more?

Nathan Fillion hinted at a DC Comics role he’d love to play if given the chance. Fillion was with his fellow Firefly cast-mates, Adam Baldwin and Summer Glau, at Wizard World Chicago and an audience member asked which Marvel or DC character he’d choose, leading to a very definite answer:

“I think I could take a pretty good crack at Booster Gold,” said Fillion. “That’s kind of my niche… show-offy, vain. I think I could handle that… not too bright.”

Now who knows if this is for a TV show (one can only hope) or a movie, possibly involving less color and more frowning, but the idea is a fine one. Fillion also had some fall back plans if Booster Gold didn’t pan out, including Ambush Bug (a DC Comics character I had never heard about) and The Greatest American Hero. That second idea needs to happen much sooner than later, if only for a pilot. Just so we can get an update of that theme song.
