Patrick Stewart May Be In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ After All. Maybe. Probably Not.

Back in January, Sir Patrick Stewart said he and his homie forever Ian McKellen probably wouldn’t reprise their roles of Professor X and Magneto in X-Men: Apocalypse. A month later, he said he still isn’t in the movie but McKellen will be. Now Bryan Singer has posted the set photo above on Instagram, which suggests a welcome and unexpected reunion of the forever homies, although Singer refers to it as just a set visit. Then again, who flies all the way to Montreal just to visit a movie set, other than me when I ignore the restraining order?

Unfortunately, it may well be a set visit, as Patrick Stewart did have a good explanation for being in Montreal this weekend. As /film points out, he’s hosting the Sir Patrick Stewart Gala at the Just for Laughs comedy festival, the same festival where Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender participated in a Big Lebowski live reading.

While I’m still hoping Stewart and McKellan will show up in a future X-Men movie, this set photo doesn’t prove that will definitely happen. If nothing else, this photo is at least useful in that it comes with a very important warning to watch out for seabees. Apparently, seabees never stop. Probably because they’re so angry about their honeycomb hideout getting flooded and attacked by squids and such. They especially have to watch out for this most dangerous game.

Yes, this entire post was just a clever ruse to post a picture of Patrick Stewart in a lobster costume.
