Quentin Tarantino Continues To Drop Hints About Possibly Making ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’

Now that The Hateful Eight is out there making movie theaters vulgar, bloody places to be to start the New Year, there’s already chatter on where Quentin Tarantino will go with his next film. With two westerns in the bag, Tarantino seems to be hinting at taking on a sequel for the first time in his career. The idea is a continuation of the Kill Bill storyline — which sure, there were two films already, but they’re technically the same film.

He’s already gone into detail in a sit down with Ben Mankiewicz, noting that Kill Bill Vol. 3 was a possibility and the original was likely his “most visionary movie.” Now in a new chat with Variety, Tarantino goes in on Beatrix Kiddo once again and says he has had some chats with Uma Thurman about bringing the character back:

“I’m not committing to it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done,” he said during a recent interview as part of our “Contenders Conversations” series. “I am talking to Uma about it just a little bit. Some of the stuff that I’d written that never made it into the movie that maybe I could use.”

According to Variety and some past plot rumors, the new film might revolve around Sofie Fatale and Elle Driver from the first two films. Instead of sending The Bride back out on the path to revenge, the tables would be turned to give Vernita Green’s daughter Nikki a chance to avenge her mother’s death — something that was hinted with The Bride’s promise at the end of their encounter.

Hard to go wrong with anything Tarantino these days, especially considering his freedom as a filmmaker. It’s always fun to see where he will go with a new idea, but a return to the Kill Bill world is welcome.
