‘Range 15’ Is A Zombie Movie From War Heroes Who Want To Make ‘Hollywood Wet Itself’

Retired United States Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell has starred in two very different movies. The first: Lone Survivor, based on his bestselling book of the same name. Mark Wahlberg plays the titular survivor in the film, but Luttrell makes multiple appearances as an uncredited Navy Seal (ugh, typecasting).

The second: Range 15, the world’s most patriotic zombie horror/comedy. The Indiegogo-financed film, which is “for veterans, by veterans,” aims to be “so hardcore military, it makes Hollywood wet itself and run home crying to mommy.” Judging by the just-released trailer, mission accomplished.

Besides Luttrell, Range 15 also stars former Army Ranger Mat Best, Medal of Honor recipients Leroy Petry and Clint Romesha, Special Forces soldier and UFC fighter Tim Kennedy, and Silver Star recipient Brian Stann, as well as professional actors like William Shatner, Keith David (bringing back fond memories of Enlisted), Parks and Recreation‘s Jim O’Heir, and Danny Trejo.

Kennedy spoke about the movie to Fox Sports:

“The people that were involved with this movie, everybody had a similar dark humor that we do, which is either going to be our demise or our success. Everything we did, we approached it as a bunch of veterans that self-funded this movie. This wasn’t a studio that came in and said, ‘We’re going to do this.’ This is truly 100-percent an independent movie done by and for veterans. That culture permeated everything that we did.” (Via)

Think The Walking Dead meets Sharknado. Watch the trailer above.
