The MTV Movie Awards Will Honor Robert Downey Jr. And Debut A New ‘Avengers’ Clip

When the annual MTV Movie Awards air on Sunday, April 12th, Tony Stark himself will be in attendance — along with many of his colorful Marvel friends. According to MTV News, Robert Downey Jr. will receive the “Generation Award” for his many contributions to American cinema and popular culture. He’s also bringing along some Avengers: Age of Ultron goodies for the audience to enjoy.

It might sound like a fake, made-up, publicity-driven award, but Downey will be the eleventh person to receive it since Tom Cruise in 2005. His Avengers sequel costars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner will present the award on MTV’s behalf. They’ll also debut a 90-second clip from the film.

Too bad Senator Stern (Garry Shandling) was a member of Hydra. He’s a great presenter:
