Ronda Rousey has a longstanding interest in playing Captain Marvel, and has gone so far as to post fan art of herself as Danvers on her Instagram. For what it’s worth, Marvel head Kevin Feige isn’t ruling her out. She’s been transitioning into acting with roles in The Expendables 3, Furious 7, Entourage, and more, all of which is apparently part of a plan to eventually land a dream acting gig. Rousey laid out her plan to Entertainment Tonight:
“I’m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg,” said Rousey, who is starring with Wahlberg in Mile 22. “Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me.”
Rousey will also be racking up some acting experience playing the Patrick Swayze part in the Road House remake, a role which was gender-swapped because, as Rousey told ET, “I really don’t think that any other man could ever be The Sways.” Very true. And if anybody wants to talk smack about Rousey playing these roles, remember: Be nice. (Also remember: She could kill you.)
