Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are no strangers to each other. They’ve worked together on Saving Private Ryan, The Terminal, and Catch Me If You Can (my personal fave), but they’ve also produced war dramas for HBO together. Now, they’re going back to war with Bridge of Spies, a cold war drama about a lawyer (Hanks) who must try to negotiate the release of an American fighter pilot.
The film also stars Alan Alda, Amy Ryan, James Caan, and Ed Asner among others and is set for release on October 16, just in time for awards season.
UPDATE: This story originally had Kevin Spacey attached to star alongside Tom Hanks in Bridge Of Spies, but he is in fact not in the movie according to his representatives.
