John Boyega Is Stunned When This Interviewer Drops A ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Spoiler On The Air

WARNING: Spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the video below

Reactions to Star Wars: The Last Jedi have been mixed to this point, with critics delivering glowing praise on Rian Johnson’s film and audiences seemingly split with their takes. One thing most can agree on is keeping plot details and spoilers tightly under wraps, especially on premiere weekend.

That doesn’t seem to be the case for ITV’s This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, though she believes this particular spoiler was already out in the open. You can’t blame her for thinking it is fair game, but it also disregards the basic trust about spoilers. Don’t watch the clip if you haven’t seen the film yet or worry about being spoiled. Just know that John Boyega is caught off guard:

It is similar to the moment that Chris Hemsworth chided a host for spoiling Thor: Ragnarok, just on a much larger level. Boyega handles the situation well, laughing it off and telling Willoughby that she can’t just spoil the film for fans like that. He then wraps it up by telling her and others to buy their tickets and find out on the big screen.

As Slash Film points out, the moment doesn’t appear on the official video for the segment — embedded below — so it is clear someone was told about the mistake when the cameras were turned off. At the same time, it’s not the type of spoiler that could ruin the entire film. It’s more a nice thing you don’t want to be ruined ahead of the opening of the biggest film of the year.

The silver lining here is that we get another memorable moment with John Boyega during the promotion for The Last Jedi. He’s having more fun than Mark Hamill.
