Stellan Skarsgård Wouldn’t Mind Returning For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) might not possess the power of Thor’s mighty hammer Mjolnir, but the fan-favorite character has popped up all over the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared in Thor, faced (and defeated) Loki’s possession in The Avengers, ran naked around Stonehenge in Thor: The Dark World, and helped Thor with a psychedelic swimming lesson in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But will Skarsgård be back for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok?

According to the Swedish actor’s comments in a recent interview with Digital Spy, Dr. Selvig’s return to the MCU is at least a contractual possibility.

“They have an option on me,” he said. “I don’t know what decisions they’ll make, but they have an option on me for the next Thor movie.”

Skarsgård went on to explain that, while his part in the larger MCU isn’t as involved as his new BBC One television series River, he still has “a lot of fun doing it.” Plus, there’s always the possibility that Disney will allow his dick to go a-floppin’ in future cuts of Thor: The Dark World.

“When you’re standing naked at Stonehenge, you don’t think of the enormousness of the universe you’re in. You think of the cold and how small your dick will be, if Disney is allowed to show it!

“But I worked with very good directors and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it.

“Of course, doing Selvig is not as challenging as it is to do River, but it doesn’t mean it’s boring. I’m having a lot of fun doing it.”

In what is largely a useless exercise, here are some GIFs of Dr. Selvig’s naked jaunt through Stonehenge. Maybe Kevin Feige will see them, laugh, and then cast Skarsgård in Thor: Ragnarok. Probably not, but maybe.
