‘Super Troopers 2’ Continues To Move Toward Release With A Brand New Poster

Remember that Super Troopers sequel? The one that was a massive crowdfunding smash? Well, Farva fans, get excited. We’re that much closer to seeing Super Troopers 2.

Director and Broken Lizard member Jay Chandrasekhar used the Cannes Film Festival as an excuse to tweet out the poster for the long, long-awaited sequel, which began shooting in the Boston area last fall. There’s no release date for Super Troopers 2 as of yet but between the photos taken on set that have been made public by Broken Lizard and now this poster, it’s clear we’ll be able to feats our eyes on the next set of adventures carried out by our favorite Vermont state trooper screw-ups.

The original, which was released in 2001 but became a major cult classic via repeated cable and DVD viewings, felt ripe for a sequel for years so when Broken Lizard started an Indigogo campaign for it and fans more than doubled what was being requested, the next installment became a lock. Broken Lizard went on to make a handful of other movies, some great (Beerfest) and some not so much (The Slammin’ Salmon, a peg or two down despite the presence of Cobie Smulders). But nothing they’ve done has approached the level of hilarity or fan worship like Super Troopers did 15 years ago.

Fox Searchlight, which distributed the original Super Troopers, is handling the sequel as well. Check out the poster below:
