Adam Sandler’s ‘The Ridiculous Six’ Is Breaking Netflix Viewing Records

Well, we did it, people. We succumbed to the incessant ad campaign and lazy familiarity of Adam Sandler’s schtick and made The Ridiculous Six garner more views than any other film in its first 30 days on the site. According to chief content office Ted Sarandos, The Ridiculous Six is breaking all kinds of records.

The Ridiculous Six, by way of example, in the first 30 days on Netflix it’s been the most-watched movie in the history of Netflix,” said Sarandos. “It’s also enjoyed a spot at #1 in every territory we operate in, and in many of them it’s still #1.”

Apparently viewers weren’t put off by the racist jokes and donkey feces, so Sandler’s lack of f*cks to give about terrible reviews has him laughing all the way to the bank. It would be nice to see Sandler return to his comedy roots that won him fans in the first place, but since viewers are turning up anyway, there doesn’t seem to be much incentive for effort. This is the first of four movies in Sandler’s Netflix contract, so we’ll just have to wait and see where he and his friends want to go on vacation next.
