The Voice Heard In The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Trailer Has Been Revealed

Since the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiered, the internet has been wildly speculating who the identity of the narrator is. Claims hit the internet that it was either Benedict Cumberbatch or Max Von Sydow. Both are viable options, indeed. And both are wrong. According to Drew McWeeny over at HitFix, the actor voicing the trailer is none other than Andy Serkis. From HitFix:

For the record, that is Andy Serkis you hear in the trailer. I was able to verify this, although I was not able to uncover any further information about the role he plays. Here’s what I do know, though. He’s playing a pivotal role in the film, although he will not have a lot of screen time.

There hasn’t been any further detail released as to the identity of the character and what role he will play in the film’s story. Until that tasty morsel is tossed our way by Mr. Abrams, let’s all sit and stare at this video of Andy Serkis and Benedict Cumberbatch swapping Hobbit voices. Something is better than nothing!
