Watch Vanilla Ice And The Original Turtles Crash The ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ Premiere

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze is a movie more beloved for its nostalgia factor than its quality. Still, it did have one key advantage if it was going to be a ’90s nostalgia fest: The presence of Vanilla Ice, offering up the infamous “Ninja Rap.” And he came back to reprise it at the premiere of the latest Turtles movie, complete with a few special guests.

Yes, they put some dancers in the original Turtle suits to dance along with him, although sadly they don’t have any animatronic facial expressions. But they do at least dance along to the original song. If you managed to miss out on the live-action Turtles rock tour, this was the closest you’d get. Before you ask, there was really a live-action rock tour starring the Turtles, and there’s a reason there hasn’t been another one.

As for Vanilla, it appears that for now, he’ll only be at the premiere, not in the movie. But nostalgia is a powerful force, and if there’s a third movie, he might turn up. Really, if Bebop and Rocksteady can come back and not have to change, why shouldn’t Rob Van Winkle get a chance?
