Weren’t Arcades Awesome? Relive The Magic With This Supercut Of Movie Arcades.

Kids today probably have no clue that arcades were THE place to hang out back in the day, places to chat up hot babes, destroy bullies on Mortal Kombat, and avoid those sad addicted pariahs who walked around in a daze like zombies, begging for quarters. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish my actual childhood from that one Baywatch episode where Hobie beats some jerks at Street Fighter and then Mitch thinks he’s been drinking after they jealously spray him with beer (go ahead and look that one up).

This new supercut from HuffPo‘s Ben Craw feeds on that nostalgia like Ms. Pac Man on so many… uh… dots? –by smashing together some totally sweet arcade action from 58 different movies released between 1975 and 1994, perhaps the golden age of arcade scenes. I enjoy that in Back to the Future II (1989), even the distant future still had cords on their shooting games.
