The Sequel To Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ Now Has An Official Release Date

If you were curious about when you’d get a chance to see the next chapter in Brad Pitt’s version of World War Z, wonder no more. The loose adaptation of Max Brooks’ modern zombie classic will see a sequel hit theaters on June 9, 2017, going head to head with whatever they have in store for Fantastic Four 2 according to Variety.

We already know that Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight has been brought on to write the sequel, starting with a clean slate apparently. What this means for the story of Brad Pitt’s Gerry Lane, I’m not sure. Pitt is returning to star in the film, but clean slate usually means the original is getting ignored.

That’s not a bad thing to be honest, but the original did have a few interesting tid bits that I hope carry over. I just hope they replicate the disaster of a production for the sequel. It was fun to read about.
