Johnny Depp Takes On Bratwurst Nazis In The Trailer For Kevin Smith’s ‘Yoga Hosers’

In Hollywood’s latest example of how easy it is to become a star when you’re the child of a famous actor or director, Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith make their starring debuts in Yoga Hosers. Lily-Rose is, of course, the daughter of half-hearted apologist Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis and Harley Quinn is the very brave and badass daughter of “human hockey jersey” (his words) Kevin Smith. And since Smith wrote and directed Yoga Hosers (as a counter to male-centric comic-book movies), it’s only fitting that Lily-Rose’s father gets in on the action. He plays the mysterious Guy Lapointe in – and this may shock you – a funny costume with a quirky accent.

The story is about as zany as they come for a Kevin Smith comedy. The leads play “The Colleens,” two high-school students, yoga enthusiasts and convenience store clerks (naturally) first glimpsed in Tusk, Smith’s previous entry in his Canada-themed True North Trilogy. The Colleens cannot believe their luck when a dreamy senior invites them to his party. But wouldn’t you know it… they instead have to team up with Lapointe and stop the evil Bratzis (Nazi bratwursts) from destroying the world. Or something. Joining the adventure are Justin Long, Adam Brody, Haley Joel Osment, Natasha Lyonne, Tony Hale, Jason Mewes, and Stan Lee.

Yoga Hosers hits theaters (or On Demand) on July 29. Please refer to Mike Ryan’s review for the obvious answer to the question you undoubtedly asked yourself after watching that trailer.
