Colin Rich's 'L.A. Light' Is A Stunning Visual Love Letter To Los Angeles

I’m not really an “L.A. guy” by any stretch, but watching this short, time-lapse video of Los Angeles at night by filmmaker Colin Rich made me think, “I need to live there at some point.” Rich, whose weather balloon-mounted camera project went viral last year, said the following about the piece, which is a visual love letter to the city in a lot of ways…

It took me 6 months of on and off shooting to finish this project and I’ve learned a couple things along the way. First off, LA might be the entertainment capital of the world, but it sure is difficult to shoot around downtown without having homeland security officers, police, or security take notice and harass you…Shooting time lapses is a labor of love and a study in patience.
