Kid Cudi Is Mr. Rager, DAMMIT!

I did not know this prior to today, but Kid Cudi and Machine Gun Kelly — both natives of Cleveland — are locked in a heated beef over which one of them invented the terms “raging” and “rager.” Now, when I first heard this I thought that maybe their version of “raging” meant something different than what I’ve come to know it as — which is partying hard, like a drunk moose. But apparently that is the definition of the term(s) they’re fighting over, though I’d swear the concept of raging is something that dates back to the 80s. Whatever, rappers gonna beef, right?

“There’s only one original Rager, and thats me,” Cudi wrote on his Tumblr recently. “I started this ‘rage’ sh*t. The lifestyle, the term, the whole new meaning and definition of the word. Understand and be clear, IAM THE RAGER, IAM FOREVER. When you hear ANYONE talking bout ‘rage’ or ‘raging’, know where that sh*t originated. Guess ima have to do some trademarkin’. ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES. WE LIVE THIS SH*T!”

Well, okay then! So here above is a new video/short film by the self-proclaimed “Mr. Rager” for the track “Mr. Rager” from his second album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Watch Kudi battle a gang of bad guys — including his evil twin — in a post-apocalyptic world. In other words, watch him RAGE!

Machine Gun Kelly, meanwhile, remains unimpressed.

Here’s the video. Enjoy…
