First off let me state this: Though we’re not shy about showing love to the things we like around here, it’s rare that we’ll come right out and implore you to purchase something. But I’m gonna do that now. Soooo…I’ve yet to see Drive, the new Ryan Gosling film everyone is talking about, and yes I regret it to hell that I haven’t because I feel I’m missing out — though I will see it soon, probably this weekend.
With that said, over the course of this week I’ve seen songs from the film’s soundtrack pop up continuously on my Tumblr dashboard — even by people I follow who rarely seem to post music — and I loved every one of them. So I broke down and spent the 10 bucks for the 19 songs yesterday and HOLY CRAP is the whole thing good. Dark, sexy, haunting, pulsating — just as I’ve been led to believe the film is — and, coincidentally, great driving music. And though I haven’t tested it out yet, I imagine it’d make for great sexting music too. The viral buzz about the soundtrack has it steadily climbing iTunes sales charts.
