It’s impossible to cover each bit of new music that comes out during the week, so every Friday, we’ll be doing an end of the week music roundup. It’s called Final Track, and we’ll count off a few songs released during the week that are worth giving a listen to.

“Who” by St. Vincent and David Byrne
I’ve made my love for St. Vincent known many a-time here on Uproxx and it goes without saying that David Byrne is a musical genius, so I’m so stoked for their album together, which St. Vincent says is split exactly in half. “Who” is the first single from Love This Giant, set to be released on September 11, and although it mostly does away with the jagged-edge feel of Strange Mercy, St. Vincent’s voice still makes you feel like you’re listening to a f*cked up fairytale, while the brass section accompaniment is reminiscent of late-era Talking Heads.
This record’s going to be as great as its cover art is terrible.
“Androgynous” by Against Me! and Joan Jett
Back in May, Against Me! lead singer Tom Gabel announced that he was becoming a she and would from then on be known as Laura Jane Grace. This week, while playing in New York, Grace invited Joan Jett on-stage to perform the Replacements classic assault on gender identity, “Androgynous,” which is just perfect.
“Thank You Kindly” by Big K.R.I.T.
Big K.R.I.T.’s first studio album, Live from the Underground, debuted at #5 on the Billboard charts last week. As a way of saying thank you to his fans for their support, K.R.I.T. recorded the aptly-titled “Thank You Kindly” and released it for free online. It’s a nice gesture from a great rapper – one who definitely reads blog comments. Do with that information as you see fit.
“I Don’t Wanna Be Learned/I Don’t Wanna Be Tamed” by Ceremony

“This Summer” by Superchunk
The forever-underrated Superchunk is one of the more consistently reliable rock bands out there; their sound has remained more or less the same for over 20 years now (maybe a little less scratchy), yet they’ve never fallen into the traps that other long-running groups have. Their ability to churn out energetic, earnest punk rock for the slack motherf*cker crown is impossibly consistent, which is why a new song like “This Summer” can sound as fresh and inviting as something from their first album.

“Full Stop” by Radiohead
Shortly after playing Bonnaroo, Radiohead performed a new song live in Chicago. “Full Stop” is dark and opaque, like much of The King of Limbs, and features Yorke chanting, “The truth will mess you up.” Honestly, it’s not their finest work (Yorke’s self-conscious misery is becoming a concern, to the point where you just want to tell him the snap the heck out of it), but it’s Radiohead, so it’s a nice Must-Hear, even if only once.
