Has your Game of Thrones withdrawal set in yet? It will soon enough. Just wait until you find yourself watching True Blood this Sunday. But what are we -- your humble servants -- here for if it's not to get you guys through the tough times? (If you answer is "working with no pants on": Also, yes.) As Game of Thrones has become more and more of a crossover hit in the last year and a half, countless renditions of the theme have appeared on YouTube. Some are rather brilliant. Some sound like Hodor playing a vuvuzela. We're going to concentrate on a handful of the former here.
I've gathered my seven favorites and ranked them (1-5) in the critical/imaginary categories of Originality, Ingenuity, and Listenability. Enjoy.
The 8-bit cover is an internet staple and this really can only be listened to once. But still, nice effort.
There are PLENTY of metal versions on YouTube. This one is the most popular. Pretty decent listen if you're not too classy for some shredding.

From the Season 1 DVD commentary tracks. Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams), and Bran (Isaac Hempstead) sing along with the theme. And people think GOT isn't capable of wholesome good times.
Kind of like the Metal version, but for people who have to listen to "More than Words" all the way through whenever it comes on.

The scores probably don't even make sense at this point but I heart this so hard.
