Sir Christopher Lee turns 91 this Monday, and he’s already secured his place in the collective conscience with roles in both Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings, but did you know he also likes to rock? After releasing a symphonic metal album about Charlemagne and Sir Christopher Lee’s A Heavy Metal Christmas, Sir Christopher Lee is releasing another metal album about Charlemagne this weekend. Feel free to reread that sentence however many times it takes to start making sense. (We don’t guarantee it ever will. Some things are just too awesome to be fathomed in this mortal realm.)
Charlemagne: The Omens of Death features Lee on vocals, with Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest providing the musical arrangements. The widget below previews the songs, and the second video is Christoper Lee talking about being a descendant of Charlemagne because of course he is.

This guy….I’d love to just sit at a pub with him and have him tell me stories.
O/U on the number of Krauts he killed.
All the Krauts.
He should shave his head and put on dark sunglasses like Rob Halford
I’m telling you, there are as many styles of metal as there are other kinds of music.
There are far more subgenres of jazz.
Christopher Lee having a side career as a Metal frontman makes absolutely no sense. At the same time, it is one of the greatest stories ever.
I love that it sounds exactly as I pictured in my head.
