Follow The Fifty-Year History Of The Guitar Solo In One Six-Minute Video

The fine folks at CDZA, with much help from guitarist Mark Sidney Johnson, took it upon themselves to boil 50-plus years of guitar solos into a single six-minute video stew, from Chuck Berry to the Black Keys. It’s in no way meant to recognize the GREATEST GUITAR SOLOS OF ALL-TIME (otherwise, John Mayer wouldn’t have made the cut), but don’t tell that to the unusually impatient YouTube commenters, who enjoy yelling: “No Floyd? No Opeth? No Dream Theater? No Sabbath? No Maiden?” The “no Floyd” response actually comes up time and time again.

Don’t worry, guys, you’ll get yours when CDZA selects the greatest cash register cha-ching solos.
