If You Enjoy Food That Sings And Dances, Then You Will Like The New They Might Be Giants Video

Back in 2011 I posted the video for Evelyn Evelyn’s “Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn” that I said at the time was “maybe the best music video I’ve ever seen.” It was directed by Hoku Uchiyama and Adam Bolt.

Well now the duo is back with the video for “You’re On Fire” by They Might Be Giants — starring Lauren Lapkus from Orange is the New Black — and it too is absolutely delightful, featuring an array of singing and dancing meat and veggies.

“The food you see, save for the mixing bowls is all puppetry. The meat is a custom made hand puppet by an artist named Sue LaPrelle who we met through an effects shop called Creature FX,” Uchiyama told UPROXX in an email. “The vegetables were purchased at the grocery store and rigged with rods so they could dance. People have mistaken the vegetables for CGI, but it’s all real stuff. The mixing bowls, while computer enhanced, are actually Adam’s and my faces.”

Enjoy!
