Today was destined to be a good day for me merely because it marks the start of the NFL season. FOOTBALL. FOOTBALL. FOOTBALL. But it’s been made exponentially better by the fact that with this post I will have written about both Empire of the Sun and Twin Shadow, two of my musical obsessions. A delightful Thursday it is.
So anyway apparently my boy Twin Shadow is using YouTube to do some musical experimentation: recording covers requested by his fans. And the result is great.

Twin Shadow’s biding his time with a new video series on YouTube he’s dubbed Under the Cvrs, which finds him performing the covers requested by his legion of fans. What started with a re-imagining of 10cc’s “Not in Love” continues with an eerie tinkering of Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A. single, “I’m on Fire”.
