My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields Thinks Britpop Was A Government Conspiracy

Kevin Shields is onto something. In an interview with the Guardian, the My Bloody Valentine frontman claims, “Britpop was massively pushed by the government. Someday it would be interesting to read all the MI5 files on Britpop. The wool was pulled right over everyone’s eyes there.” His reasoning is that Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and Blur’s Damon Albarn were supporters of Tony Blair’s Labour Party, and they often visited 10 Downing Street.

But the real proof in the figgy pudding is…

That man was once a desired sex symbol. Only a government-backed brainwashing could have made that happen.
