The Israeli Parody Of Miley Cyrus’s ‘We Can’t Stop’ Is Not Good For The Jews

I went to Israel (on YouTube), and all I got was this topless woman singing a parody of a Miley Cyrus song. Actually, I did go to Israel many years ago, on a Birthright trip, but this was back in the days of “Party in the U.S.A.” Not exactly a big hit in the Middle East. But Miley’s been inescapable this year, including in the hills of the Jewish homeland, where the music video for “Jews Can’t Stop,” a parody of “We Can’t Stop,” was filmed.

I’m not sure which made me unintentionally laugh harder: the close-up of a donkey while singer Orit Jean Arfa moans, “Trying to get a Nobel for peace,” or the sexy sign dancing, or nearly three minutes in, when Arfa tries to hit the high notes. They’re all so wonderful, like a slice of matzah covered in gelt on a crisp Kwanzaa morning.

Can’t wait for the followup, “I came in like a Western Wall…”
