In an interview with the Guardian last week, Lana Del Rey made the mistake of feeding the trolls when she said, “I wish I was dead already…I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am.” Poor thing — all that spinning must be exhausting. She’s since backtracked from the comments, but Frances Bean Cobain is having none of it. She responded to Lana’s inane wistfulness on Twitter:
The death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize…I’ll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s “cool.” Well, it’s f*cking not. Embrace life, because you only get one life.
Well said, Frances. Besides, Lana is 28 years old — she missed the age when it’s “cool” for a musician to die young. And when has she ever done anything that can’t be considered cool?
