Color Me Badd performed their 1991 hit and McDonald’s playland scourge “I Wanna Sex You Up” at the BET Awards Sunday night, but noticeably absent was lead singer Bryan Abrams who split with the band yet again last year to focus on his sobriety — recently spending six months in rehab for alcohol related issues. Abrams history of domestic abuse and alcoholism is well documented, going all the way back to 2007 when he appeared on a VH1 series called Mission Man Band (which I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who watched) alongside *NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick and others.

During Sunday night’s performance, Abrams, master of the passive aggressive burn, tweeted support for fellow ’90s R&B band Silk, who also performed at the awards, in addition to retweeting only two people who apparently noticed his absence:

What was that I was saying about him being master of the passive aggressive burn? Oh right: Abrams followed with this statement to TMZ:

Bryan was not-so diplomatic, saying “I’m not trying to hate on them, but I thought it sounded kinda horrible.”

That’s OK, Bryan Abrams, I totally understand. And don’t take this the wrong way or anything, but you’re kind of an obese, washed up has been. No offense!

Anyway, I thought they sounded fine, but judge for yourself. OooOooOooOooh!
