Billboard’s Official Song Of The Summer Is Exactly What You Think It Is

In the most expected news since my doctor told me to lay off the vodka and cupcakes, Billboard has named Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy” THE Song of the Summer, ’cause all you other Songs of the Summers are just imitators. Won’t the real “Fancy” please stand up, then fall down?

As “Fancy” crowned the Hot 100 for seven weeks (beginning June 7, a week prior to the start of the Songs of the Summer 14-week tracking period), it ruled the Songs of the Summer chart wire-to-wire. Helping fuel its domination, the track remained in the weekly Hot 100’s top five for another six weeks after its reign. (Via)

And she couldn’t have done it without the Weird Al bump.
