Why Is Flea Of The Red Hot Chili Peppers Defending Kobe Bryant?

Last week, ESPN called Kobe Bryant the 40th best player in the NBA. Most of us had a good laugh about it, though some of you argued that Kobe’s best days were well behind him and his ranking was justified. This is a friendly reminder that some of you shouldn’t do drugs and leave comments on websites—but I digress.

ESPN’s Henry Abbott added fuel to the fire this week by obliterating Kobe in this article. In short, he says Kobe is “destroying the Lakers within.”

And now Flea has come to Kobe’s defense. Yes, Flea, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a diehard Lakers fan and he went IN on the Worldwide Leader.

The Smush Parker redux made me laugh. Love you for that Flea.

A few hours later Phil Jackson added his .02.

So yeah, there you have it. Flea’s argument is valid because the greatest coach in NBA history (allegedly) has his back. Take that ESPN!
