The Flaming Lips stopped by Conan to promote their new Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album and they brought Miley Cyrus along to help. Last week they were on Kimmel to perform “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” and tonight we get “A Day In The Life.”
It’s alright, I guess. If I didn’t know it was The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus, I might think I stumbled my way into a bad hipster karaoke contest. The kind where the beer is cheap, whiskey is cheaper, and it all allows you to put up with the poor renditions of popular songs. I’ll have to seek out the album and give it a proper listen because this probably isn’t the best way to get introduced.
