The Strokes’ Albert Hammond, Jr. Announced A New Album And Shared A Track That Isn’t An Underworld Cover

While his The Strokes bandmate Julian Casablancas is building a Twitter legacy, guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. has announced his third full length LP, Momentary Masters. The album is due out July 31 on Vagrant Records, a label I thought only had bands like Dashboard Confessional and other emo stalwarts of the early ’00s,. This will be Hammond’s first full length since 2008’s ¿Cómo Te Llama? and his first new music since 2013’s AHJ EP.

Our first taste of Momentary Masters is a track called “Born Slippy,” and I’m sure you’re thinking the same thing I was when I first read that title: “Is this an Underworld cover?” Turns out, it isn’t, but it’s still a great track. Hammond’s latest album will feature production from Gus Oberg, who has a long history with The Strokes and Hammond’s solo work.

It should also be noted that track 10 of Momentary Masters is entitled “Side Boob.” I’m really looking forward to “Side Boob,” as should you be looking forward to “Side Boob.”
