Noted singer and choir boy Chris Brown may be in trouble with the law again. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the singer is suspected of misdemeanor battery, which took place at the Palms Casino.

The police say they arrived at the luxury hotel after reports of a fight breaking out after a basketball game that took place at almost 4 AM. They also say that the victim was punched by Brown, and when the victim steadied himself to fight, another man hit him and Brown joined in. Brown was given the option to accept a citation for misdemeanor battery or have the case be opened up for prosecution, but so far Brown hasn’t spoken with the police. Brown just got off probation in March after six years from an assault case against ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Here’s a twist in the latest story: There are rumors (to be clear — completely unverified rumors) that singer Jeremih was the victim.

No arrests have been made yet, but we’re sure this all a big mix up. All this violence doesn’t sound like Chris Brown at all!

UPDATE: The victim has dropped the charges against Chris Brown.
