Here’s Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig Joining Chromeo To Cover ‘Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa’

Music festivals, with their preponderance of musicians in one place, can lead to some pretty cool surprise collaborations. At the Governor’s Ball on Friday, such an occurrence happened. Pigeons and Planes report that while Chromeo was going through their set they were joined on stage by Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.

As the guitarist from Chromeo plays a slightly off take on the opening riff from “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” Koenig appears on stage to show him how it’s done. They then perform the song, segueing into Chromeo’s own “Bonafide Lovin’.”

This is not the first time these guys have collaborated, actually. Back at Coachella in 2011, Koenig joined Chromeo onstage for the song “I Could Be Wrong” and he also appears on the song “Ezra’s Interlude” from the album White Women.
