Now that we are out of the cold and grey times of winter and flowers are blooming anew, it’s time for the two words that will haunt your existence or excite you with aplomb (depending if you’re single or taken): Wedding season. The planning of one’s nuptials is perhaps one of the most stressful and expensive things that any couple can engage in, and one of the most crucial parts of these plans is the music. Well, according to Spotify, it turns out we all have pretty vanilla taste in music.

The streaming service combed through more than 400,000 wedding playlists found on Spotify around the globe, according to the Hollywood Reporter, and with that data they released two playlists — Most Popular Wedding Songs Globally and Most Popular First Dance Songs Globally. John Legend’s “All Of Me” topped the Wedding Songs list and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” was number one on the First Dance list. Truth be told, both of those tracks would be perfectly fine for such an occasion, but Train somehow appears in each of the playlist’s top 10? Other coffeehouse chillout artists like Ray Lamontagne, Colbie Caillat, Jack Johnson, and Bright Eyes also made the cut.

Now, it’s completely understood that you have to find a happy medium in something like a wedding playlist with ages 8 to 80 in attendance, but you gotta do better than that. To be fair, there are some good songs to be found here as well, from OutKast, Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, and Daft Punk to name a few. But in our humble opinion, they are missing maybe one of the greatest wedding songs of all time: “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)” by UGK.

Play your part, play your part.
