Watch The Weeknd Perform His Sultry Cover Of Beyonce’s ‘Drunk In Love’

The Weeknd is probably gearing up for the biggest week of his entire career, and if he wants it go perfectly, he picked the right way to start it. This Friday, the Canadian crooner will release his second studio album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which we’ve already gotten a pretty great sneak preview of, if you haven’t heard it. To commemorate the album, the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer performed at the Billboard Hot 100 Festival this past Sunday in New York City, and, while he has the world’s full attention, he decided to cover the largest artist in the planet: Beyoncé.

The XO leader decided to take on everyone’s favorite celebration of inebriation while performing at Jones Beach, and, of course, he did it in his signature dark and mysterious way. For what it’s worth, if you are about to drop the biggest album of your life, at least thus far, and want a model for success, there are few better than Beyoncé. The world is captivated by her every whim, even though she doesn’t even really talk. While The Weeknd may not have the following of a Beyhive just yet, he can start by making a record that will capture the hearts and minds of the American people… and making a super sexy album that somehow your mother likes. That is not for you, Mom!
