If you’re planning on going to Morrissey’s next two shows at the UK’s Eventim Apollo, enjoy them – it could be the last time to see Moz in his home nation. In a statement posted to the fan site True to You, The Smiths singer claims his next two United Kingdom shows will be his last.

“There is absolutely no way that we can generate any interest from record labels in the United Kingdom, therefore the imminent two nights at Hammersmith are likely to be our final ever UK shows. We are obsessively grateful for all interest and loyalty from our audience … throughout 28 years … but without new releases, there is no point in any additional touring. Thank you for so many absolutely incredible times. The pleasure and privilege is mine … “

With no new future releases planned, Morrissey says there is no use in touring. He’s notorious for canceling shows and tours, so consider this a cancellation of future shows that just haven’t been announced yet.

It’s not all bad news for Morrissey fans; he still plans on releasing his debut novel Light of the Lost on September 24 in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Plus, he managed to make it through this tour without a show cancellation, despite claiming to have been sexually assaulted by a San Francisco Airport security guard. He even performed at this year’s FYF Festival in Los Angeles, where a headliner not named Morrissey canceled at the last minute.
