Iman Shumpert Breaks His Musical Silence And Remakes Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’

Ah, Iman Shumpert. There is no reason to not like dude. While the Cavs guard is sidelined possibly for the remainder of 2015 with a bum wrist, he must have figured “Look, these pipes aren’t broken.” Hey, when you’re the progenitor of the #knickstape, and the music is in you, you just can’t hold it in. Even when, maybe, sometimes you should.

So probably while screwing around in pro-tools in the homemade studio his recent four-year, $40 million contract built (which we’re totally speculating exists in his house), he decided to put his own spin on Drake’s chart-topper “Hotline Bling.”

For what it’s worth, Shump has proven that he’s not entirely terrible at rapping and singing (on the terrible athlete-musician scale), and he manages to not do bad for himself here, flipping “Hotling Bling” for “Highlight Reel” and also talking about having his dad be his personal chef.

It’s definitely an exercise in weirdness, but dude can’t ball right now, so at least let him discover his inner Aubrey. That is until the Cavs potentially meet the Raptors in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Hopefully, by then he will be back to good health and won’t be recording a diss-laden “Back To Back” remix with shots at Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross.
