This NASCAR Driver Dissed Drake By Saying He’s ‘Soft Like Tissue’

Drake, at the risk of sounding corny, has a fair amount of enemies. From sneak dissers to outright beefs, the 6’s native son has a lot of people he must keep his eyes on, while already focusing on his own business, most notably his new album, Views from the 6. But one place he probably wasn’t expecting a rap critique to come from was the world of professional motorsports.

Mark Martin, a pro driver for nearly three decades in NASCAR — who was named one of the 50 Greatest of All-Time and is in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America — just so happens to be a huge hip-hop fan. And he’s not just dipping a toe in the pool; he is all in. In his Twitter bio, he proudly proclaims “Gucci Mane my favorite Rapper.”

Despite getting grief from the, we’ll say, not as understanding NASCAR community, he has long loved the hip-hop world. But one of his opinions about rap’s biggest acts today went viral when he straight-up fired shots at October’s Very Own.

Now, who is the audience exactly for hot rap takes spliced in between NASCAR coverage? Who knows, but dude clearly knows his stuff.

To be fair, the “Ice Cream Paint Job (Remix)” is very good. Now, realistically, Drake will probably never respond to a now winding down, semi-retired NASCAR driver’s disses. But, if Meek Mill starts wearing one of those driver jackets, we’ll know exactly why.
