Adam Levine Reacts To The Death Of His Former ‘The Voice’ Mentee Christina Grimmie

The cast of The Voice have weighed in on the loss of Christina Grimmie to a tragic shooting in Orlando on Friday night. Adam Levine mentored Grimmie on the show and definitely seems to have been struck by the incident, posting the above image on his Instagram page with the following:

I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this…this just isn’t fair.

Grimmie received nothing but praise while on the show, impressing both Levine and legendary musician Graham Nash according to People:

“I’m amazed at the range and the control and the depth of her voice,” said Levine’s own mentor, Graham Nash, who was extremely impressed by Grimmie’s talent.

“At 20 years old, that’s insane,” Nash told Levine.

Blake Shelton also weighed in online, sharing his prayers when he first heard about the shooting and then his reactions following her passing:

It’s such an odd situation, especially with how it played out. Not only was the young talent snuffed out, it happened in such a violent way. The thoughts and mentions online are book ended by the tweets that have been sent out from Grimmie’s account before and after the incident. It’s business as usual to begin, with the note about it being a hometown show on the Before You Exit Twitter page.
