Arcade Fire, Eminem, And Lady Gaga Will Perform At The Inaugural YouTube Music Awards

What the world needs now more than ever is more award shows, and YouTube is here to provide. Earlier today, the website where you go to watch videos of cats running into glass doors announced that they will host their music award show on November 3rd, with live performances from Arcade Fire, Eminem, and Lady Gaga.

The first YouTube Music Awards will be held on Nov. 3 at Pier 36 on the Lower East Side, with performances by Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Eminem and other luminaries that will be live-streamed — on YouTube, of course — under the direction of Spike Jonze, the director of classic music videos like the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.”

The event will also feature musicians who have made their splash through online videos, like the violinist Lindsey Stirling (417 million views) and Cdza, a group that performs comedic covers and medleys (20 million). Vice and Sunset Lane Entertainment will be the executive producers of the show. (Via)

The nominees for the show’s six categories, based on number of views and shares, will be announced later this month, but assume Jess Greenberg will win them all.
