Arcade Fire Debuted Six New Songs At A Tiny Montreal Show

Late last year at Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, Arcade Fire played a small, intimate show where they debuted some new songs. Later, when they took the big stage at the festival to close out the weekend, they revealed that they were recording some of the set to include on their new album.

While they haven’t fully announced what the follow-up to 2013’s Reflektor will be, they did recently announce a European tour, and shared a single with Mavis Staples called “I Give You Power” at the top of 2017.

More information is definitely coming soon, because this past weekend The Montreal Gazette reports that the band played a very small room — of just about 50 people — and performed not one, not two, but six new songs. With their tour kicking off at the beginning of June, we’ll surely get some more new official music or news of the record release shortly.

There’s no word on whether or not the record will include more high profile collaborations like Staples, but with the way things have been trending lately, it seems likely that other guest stars will be included. Perhaps not as many as on the Gorillaz new album, but maybe a rapper or two? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
